Woodland Owl Bathroom Theme

For the love of a Woodland Owly themed bathroom. This is one of my favorite themes lately so when my long time friend Sue came to me for advice and some direction on this project I got super excited!

She and her husband have a cool bi-level home in Grand Rapids, Michigan that they are updating throughout. Her next project is her upstairs bathroom that they share with thier two son's. She already had this fabulous shower curtain picked out, I just needed to expand a little...

Okay so here is the breakdown of what you see above:

1. Modern cabinet that still gives ample storage for a growing family. I thought a white cabinet would be a nice contrast to the blue walls too. Sink cabinet, FLÅREN/ HÖLLVIKEN, IKEA: $229

2. Such a great example that decorating can be affordable and still look fabulous. This 72"x72" curtain could be used for window covering, throw pillows, you name it! Shower curtain, Home Vista Tree, Target: $24.99

3. Simple and understated and should match the vinyl tan and white flooring. Oh and machine washable which is a huge plus. Bath mat, Fieldcrest Luxury Classic Hotel Bath Mat Taupe Dusk, Target: $16.99

4. Owls make everything better. This Owly is a bamboo laser cut one with a clock, fancy like. Wooden Owl Clock, Decoupage-Interiors.com: $50

5. Every bathroom needs towels, nuff said. Waverly Home 6-pc. Towel Set, Target: $37.99

6. Kids are much better at taking care of themselves when what they need is easily accessible so here we have a kid friendly towel hook/rack. I thought this one was super cute and you can custom order the colors so that gives it extra points. This is also an easy at home project with few simple supplies you crafty folks. Owl Peg Rack - eco-friendly, Etsy store: MapleShadeKids, $59

7. DIY: Abbey's Faux Bois Trashcan via Apartment Therapy San Fransisco, cost: less than $10

8. Wall color to keep a cheery feeling going. This is a low VOC paint option, with eggshell finish for easy clean ups, in "Cloudless Day MLS154", by Martha Stewart Living at Home Depot, Gal. $26.97

9. DIY: Easy fabric vase covers via HowAboutOrange.blogspot.com, cost: less than $5

Once I got all major things taken care of I moved onto art. Sue has a keen eye for wall art so I am going to give her several options and we will just have to wait and see what she picks!:
